Rennes est une ville terrestre. Il faut environ une heure pour se rendre en voiture à la mer la plus proche. La ville n'est traversée que par un étroit fleuve, la Vilaine. Au XIXe siècle, elle a été habillée de granit dans les limites de la ville et, dans le centre-ville, elle passe sous terre et coule dans un canal en béton, au-dessus duquel se trouvent un boulevard avec une chaussée, des parkings et des places, dont les bancs sont toujours occupés. Au nord de la rivière se trouvent les quartiers de la vieille ville. À l'extrémité est de Rennes, au bord de la Vilaine, se trouve la cité moderne Magellan construite par Alan Sarfati - des immeubles blancs de sept étages en forme d'immenses navires. En marchant le long du remblai, vous remarquerez sans le savoir l’abondance de confiseries et de bars sur la rive. Grâce à l'abondance des canaux, il est possible de faire une excursion en bateau autour de Rennes et même de naviguer jusqu'à certaines zones pittoresques à l'extérieur de la ville pour y passer une journée entière...

Rennes is a city by land. It takes about an hour to get to the nearest sea by car. There is only a narrow river Vilaine crossing the city. In the XIX century in the city limits it was dressed in granite, and in the center of the city it goes underground and flows through a concrete channel, over which there is a boulevard with a roadway, parking lots and squares, whose benches are always busy. North of the river are the neighborhoods of the Old Town. At the eastern end of Rennes, by the banks of the Vilaine, stands the modern Magellan residential complex built by Alan Sarfati - white seven-story buildings in the shape of huge ships. Walking along the promenade, one can't help but notice the abundance of pastry shops and bars along the riverbank. Thanks to the abundance of water canals, it is possible to take a boat trip around Rennes and even sail to some of the picturesque areas outside the city to spend a whole day there...

Ренн – город сухопутный. До ближайшего моря на машине ехать около часа. Есть только узенькая речка Вилен, пересекающая город. В XIX веке в городской черте её одели в гранит, а в самом центре города она уходит под землю и течет по бетонному каналу, над которым расположен бульвар с проезжей частью, парковками и сквериками, чьи лавочки всегда заняты. К северу от реки расположены кварталы Старого города. В восточной части Ренна, у берега Вилена, стоит современный жилой комплекс «Магеллан», построенный Аланом Сарфати — белые семиэтажные здания в виде огромных кораблей. Гуляя по набережной невольно обращаешь внимание на обилие кондитерских и баров на берегу реки. Благодаря обилию водных каналов, по Ренну можно совершить прогулку на лодке и даже уплыть в какую-нибуль из живописных местностей за пределами города, чтобы провести там целый день…
