Redon est une ville de Bretagne, chef-lieu de l'arrondissement et du canton du même nom, située à 60 km au sud-ouest de Rennes et à 60 km au nord-ouest de Nantes. Elle s'est construite autour de l'abbaye de Saint-Sauveur, fondée en 832 par l'ermite breton Saint Conwoïon. Au Moyen-Âge, elle était l'une des plus importantes de Bretagne. Au XIXe siècle, Redon devient une plaque tournante des transports : la Vilaine et le canal de Nantes à Brest, qui relie la cité balnéaire de Brest à la Loire, se croisent sur son territoire. C'est aujourd'hui une ville d'environ 10 000 habitants. En son centre se trouvent une magnifique tour romane et un clocher gothique. Autour d'elle s'étend la zone piétonne de la ville avec ses petites rues pavées et ses maisons à colombages. Sur le quai Duguay-Trouin, en face des magnifiques maisons d'armateurs, on peut voir un mur d'entrepôts portuaires taché de graffitis assez intéressant.  La rivière et le canal regorgent de navires et de bateaux en tout genre. Mais les rues de Redon sont aussi pleines de véhicules terrestres ; il est difficile de se garer dans cette petite ville.

Redon is a town in Brittany, the center of the district and canton of the same name, located 60 km southwest of Rennes and 60 km northwest of Nantes. It was built around the abbey of Saint-Sauveau (Saint Savior), founded in 832 by the Breton hermit St. Conwoion. In the Middle Ages it was one of the most important in Brittany. In the XIX century Redon became a transportation hub: the Vilaine River and the Nantes - Brest canal, which connects the city of Brest on the sea coast with the Loire, cross on its territory. It is now a town of about 10,000 inhabitants. At its center is a magnificent Romanesque tower and a Gothic bell tower. Around it is the pedestrianized area of the city with small cobbled streets and half-timbered houses. On the Duguay-Trouin quay, opposite the magnificent shipowners' houses, you can see a rather interestingly graffiti-covered wall of harbor warehouses.  And the river and canal are full of all kinds of ships and boats. However, the streets of Redon are also full of land vehicles; it's hard to park in this small town.

Построен вокруг аббатства Сен-Совё ( Святого Спасителя), основанного в 832 году бретонским отшельником Св. Конвойоном. В средние века оно было одним из самых важных в Бретани. В XIX веке Редон становится транспортным узлом: на его территории пересекаются река Вилен и канал Нант — Брест, связывающий город Брест на морском побережье с Луарой. Сейчас это город с населением около 10 000 человек. В его центре — великолепная романская башня и готическая колокольня. Вокруг расположена пешеходная зона города с маленькими мощеными улочками и фахверковыми домами. На набережной Дюгуай-Труин напротив великолепных домов судовладельцев можно увидеть довольно интересно разукрашенную граффити стену портовых складов.  А на реке и на канале полным-полно самых разнообразных судов  и судёнышек. Впрочем, на улицах Редона сухопутных транспортных средств тоже полным-полно; в этом небольшом городке запарковаться довольно-таки сложно.
